We're proud to share that Dr. E, co-founder of Wild & Pure, has been named a 2026 Seattle AWIS Award Winner for Science/Technology Advancement and Leadership. It's recognition well worth talking about, so we're sharing some of the work that brought her here.

She trusted what she was seeing.
In the early 2000s, Dr. E noticed something that wasn't adding up. Women trying to conceive were using lubricants that weren't helping, and despite labels that said "non-spermicidal" the research told a different story.
What followed was years of research, a new product, and a new FDA medical device category. That work earned her the international Young Andrologist Award, and it all started because she trusted what she was seeing.
She checked the data. Then she spoke up.
Dr. E has always had a "see something, say something" approach to science. When medical guidelines were steering physicians to tell patients that antenatal perineal massage (APM), the gentle stretching of the birth canal before delivery, offered no protective benefit Dr. E went to the original Cochrane study. She found that the data was being reported completely backwards.
She reached out to the study's primary author directly. Together, they wrote a corrective article setting the record straight and documenting the real, statistically significant benefits of APM: fewer episiotomies, fewer tears during delivery, and better emotional experiences reported by mothers. Because birth trauma affects both outcomes and a woman's long-term wellbeing, these findings carry real-world weight that mothers and their care providers deserve to know.
We'll be sharing some more highlights from Dr. E's career over on Instagram, follow us at @wildandpure.co to see them!
