The award recognizes her willingness to look closer, ask questions, and say something when the data doesn't add up. From inventing Pre-Seed® to correcting the record on misrepresented research, Dr. E has spent decades doing the slow, careful work of getting it right.
She took the stage at the AWIS banquet to share her story and accept the award, recognized alongside the evening's full slate of honorees for their achievements, leadership, and advocacy for women in STEM. The night brought together over 100 attendees at the UW Center for Urban Horticulture, with reflections from award winners on staying curious, saying yes to unexpected opportunities, and finding the mentors who shape a career.
